This was a Bent Creek zipper kit.

Stitching Updates... Almost finished!

This is just an update of where this piece is at... we have been pretty busy and I have not had time to stitch all that much.   This piece is so fun to stitch. The pics were taken last night.
I am using glow in the dark floss fo the eyes and the bones.   I have used my own choices for colors on the hats... and have used some backstitch on the bones.  I LOVE this piece...

Tonight's stitching

It is late but I was so pleased with the way this piece is starting to look I had to share with you.   Tonight my grandbaby sat and played with all her toys and i was able to stitch like crazy... it was such a good relaxing evening.  This is being stitched on a 28 ct evenweave that was an oopsie dye lot.  I am usinf DMC flosses....  The chart is Alley Quartet by Barbara Ana Designs.  I am looking for my glow in the dark white dmc floss... I want to stitch the eyes and fish bones in that.
Thank you for looking... and keep crossing those stitches.

Updates on Life....

I lost my job a few weeks back.  I have been trying to wrap my head around it all.  I had seen some things of the signs.... but had hoped it would work its way out.  With the way my life has been going ... I was not shocked that I was released.   I was lucky enough to get a HUGE severance which has allowed me to pay off the cars... and we are going to take a much needed vacation.  On top of that i have some to place in savings.    I just received in the mail a letter about grants I am eligable for to go back to school... I am debating this... and hoping to get a degree... that would be so cool.
This is giving me time off to be with the grandbaby... she is so precious.   Time off with the puppies... they are cutie pies... and time off to try to heal.  -

I will post stitchy updates a little later.... but wanted to leave you with a picture of our lil daisy!

FAREWELL TO MY FRIEND

What a year!
Sunday we lost our best friend of over 13 years.  She was a live wire and sometimes she did the darnedest things. but she was loved dearly by all in our home.
She took ill the weekend before and was admitted to the doggie hospital. she had what they thought was a blockage we okd surgery cuz she is our baby girl. they found her intestines had something in them gauze like that had killed a large section of the intestine. they removed the bad section and hoped she would heal. Saturday morn she came home and we made her a soft bed in front of us so we cud be rite with her. She seemed to be doing so good. and was getting up on her own kinda and walking around the house.  Late that evening she got up and came to lay on the floor between us and I got down and layed with her and held her.  She seemed so happy to be with us and know we loved her so much. Sunday when I wok up she was doing pretty bad. By 11 am she was in pain and was not abl to stand we ruahed her to the doggie ER and they said her internal stitches were leaking and she was toxic and would not make it and would not live thru another surgery.  My husband called me sobbing to tell me what he was gonn do and that he would hold her in his arms as she passed.   Oh my goodness what are we gonna do with out our "little miss fuzzie bottoms" girl?
Who is gonna great us when we come home?  Who is gonna get into things she shouldn't and aggervate  the heck out of us?  Who is gonna climb up in my stitch chair with me her stinky feet and all and cuddle up while I stitch.  What a treasured friend.   She was completely devoted to us 100% .  We will never find another like her.
Cocoa ... Thank You!  for picking us to be your care takers you was a blessing. (sometimes in disguise)  You protected us when we needed it and loved us always.  We will be lost without you.
My mom tells me dogs don't have souls but I will pray so hard to one day get to see you in heaven.  I love you baby girl rest in peace!
Last nite my son made her a headstone where we laid her to rest.  We buried her with her favorite toys and the first toy she stole from my kids when she was a tiny puppy... that silly loud yellow ball. On top with her headstone I placed her orange monkey toy she loved with dirt around him to hold him in the ground.
God love her little heart.  She is gonna be missed so badly.

December 21 Christmas is almost here!

Just peaking in like the grand daughter is... to say HI and to show you a few finishes that I have done! Since this picture was so adorable I had to put it in here...

Here is a picture of how I finished the grand daughters ornament! It is her first of hopefully MANY MANY ornaments. I hope she thinks it is fun and playful!
and another shot of it...

Here is what it looks like from above... showing the entire ornament!

This is a picture of my Daughters ornament! I thing it is a little more plain that I had hoped but the gold is very shiney! It was fun! and I still would like to find a small button in green for each side of the ornament to attach to it! I am still looking!

Here I was trying to help you see the shine on this ribbon... but it is not showing like it should!

The ornaments this year were FUN... and seriously helped me to feel like it was Christmas... I know that Abigail was a present from God to help me get through the end of the year! She doesnt even know that she helps me but she does... and I try so hard to tell her about her Great Grandpa and how much he would have LOVED her... I used phrases that he would and tell her they are his... He is still here and is carried on with that precious baby girl!

Finishing progress

Today at lunch I worked on the finish work for the finished ornament that I have. I completed all of the beadwork trip and have just the remainder side to completed and it is ready to display.

Last night I twisted the cord with a charcoal grey and a bright rayon metalic yellow... and then I am using purple beads to accent...
The back fabric is just FUN!!! and playful!

In this pic you can see the little flower like knot that I am placing on each side. Then I am adding the small tassels. It is just such a FUN piece.

This has been such a fun fun piece!!!!

Thank you for looking!

Quick update: new start and 2 finishes!

NEW START:

Hallow Eden - Plum Street Sampler

Always start out with the best thing! A NEW START!!! This piece is so cool to stitch!!! I just loved stitching this S -snake! I have a fear of snakes but he is a cutie patootie! I usually do love stitching Plum Street Sampler charts though!

FINISHES:
This is Lizzie Kate Fresh from the Garden Needlebook and pin cushion. I did get the kit of the pre-made pieces to go with this ... and LOVE the way they turned out!!! I had a blast stitching this and it went so fast!!!! What a fun piece!

This was a piece from the JCS regular Halloween Mag Issue... It is by Brittercup Designs... called Stitchy Kitty. I found this fun scrap of fabric at Keepsakes cross stitch shop in Ohio. This was just PERFECT for this piece... it has that spotting that lays in just the right places! I am in the process of finishing this piece now! I will post pics of it when it is completed!

This is a pic with it besides the mag pic of the finished piece... How fun is this ! I am not crazy about Cats (was attacked as a child and had a Rabbies scare) but this is soooooooo adorable ... I had to stitch it!

I have so many that I want to start now... so I hope I will get so start some of them and of course finish them too!

Keep crossing those stitches!!!
