Christmas Day... What I have been working on

Merry Christmas all!

For several months now I have been working on finishing as many as I could of my daughters completed pieces.  I was so excited to give her this box this morning and watch her open them.  I thought through each one trying to make them as special as I could... Biscornue, five, flat folds, stand up, a box, a cube(a square pumpkin), and ornaments.  I hope she likes how I completed each... She has done such a good job stitching them I wanted to honor her work.

Enjoy your holiday

Another ornament finished this weekend.

I didn't get a ton of stitching completed... we did a mass stock up for the winter months food shopping day on Saturday... freezer chest almost full... stand up extra freezer full... pantry almost full but could have done more.  We did what we could though and have some things to carry us through the in between times of winter.
Sunday... I fixed a huge meal(dd was off work)  and fixed a double pumpking pie... DH took me for a Starbucks run... it is cold and windy... so that warm chi sounded so good.   And it was!

I did finish thhe hedgehog ornament... the two little ornaments... and finished a christmas gift (but I can't show it or they will know....)

I also am looking to find a Margaret Sherry chart of a hedgehog in a ballet skirt... I have a picture below.  I can't find this at all... am hoping to borrow, or if for sale.   I like her lil elephants too and can't seem to find them.  I was just introduced to this magazine... and do so love it.  Very cute quick pieces in it.  It is just fun!

Thank you for stoppin by... and taking a look will post these ornaments whrn they are completed and ready to hang on the tree.

Have a great week... and for those about to go through the storms... my thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.  Be safe... Hugs!

A finish for an exchange

I have not been doing much stitching the past few days... not been feeling the best.  I have seen some of the others post their finished exchanges for our Tiara club retreat that is next weekend.

I stitched peeping tom and finished him in an Altoid can... I have never done this before so it was an experience for me.  I hope my person likes it... it has a small scissor holder in the main part of the can with a small pin pillow... In the lid... I have some wool felt so that needles can be stored....I worked pretty hard at understanding the dynamics of this... Oh I hope that they like it.   How do you think it looks?  I don't want it to look bad for this exchange.

Thank you for stopping by to look have a great night.

Finishing another completed piece.

You know at 42 years of age... it never ceases to amaze me just how ugly human nature is. The past couple years there has been some pretty ugly people surrounding me... whatever the motivators are for people to look a person in the eye and still lie... and just be ugly they are not excusable.  I hear several blogs write about the days gone by and wanting life to slow down.  In my opinion we have traded a mans word... and general kindness for the fast passed life where we are constantly running... never home and living life with our FF button depressed.  We all need a slow down... and a time to just relax.  I sat last night thinking about the past few years and how hard they have been. There are some days that I could easily be a hermit and seclude to my house... connections with people and a tan are a bit over rated.

I showed you all pics of this completed stitch piece ... I decided to get the finish work done so that I can display it this Halloween.  This was a fun piece to stitch and even more fun to finish. This is the first time I have finished a triangle piece like this... but it was fairly easy to do... and I will probably do it over again. The bows on the side have the little black cat glass buttons that I fell in love with on the side. I have wooden balls on the bottom to life it up WHAT A GREAT PIECE! The fun I have had with this piece re-sparks how much fun stitching is for me...
THANK YOU TO BARBARA ANNA DESIGNS for creating this alleycat quartet piece.
Take care and keep crossing those stitches.

Sunday's projects... and a new start

Sunday was hot so I stayed in doors.  I made a large meal... and was able to clean and do laundry some too.
I completed the finish work on one of my Halloween pieces... it was almost finished so it just took a few minutes... and he was hanging on my halloween tree.  This is a Brittercup designs piece from the 2011 Halloween Ornament subscription mag.
Since I am for the most part finished with the LizzieKate piece... I still wanted to stitch something fall themed... so I pulled out one that a friend had given to me.
This is a Blackbird designs piece and I am loving it.   I didn't get to stitch as much as I would have liked to yesterday but did get some time... I attached a picture of my progress on this piece so far.

Not a lot to tell you about... just a blah day.
Take care and I hope your week is blessed.

All Season tree... and some finish work.

Happy Saturday!   I hope that this weekend has been a good one for you.
Friday I went to Hobby Lobby to get a low cost frame for the LizzieKate Halloween ABC's piece that I just finished.  I left with a frame and a small pine tree that I have wanted for a few years now to display some of my seasonal smalls.  I went ahead and started decorating it for Halloween.  I have attached a pic of this tree... I must get a longer extension cord fr it ... but it lights up so pretty.
Then when I went thru my finished stitching box... I found some old pieces that have the stitching completed and are patiently waitin me to finish and display them.  SO... that is what I did today... the finish work was so fast on these 2 and I think they turned out pretty cute.  Yes... I know... the date is embarassing... 2007!  Just busy and lost track of them being there.
No stitching today... just odd stuff.... and housework.  Hopefully later tonite... I will get to stitch.
Thank you for stopping by....   Have a great evening.
