Stormy day... and a Finish!

Thank Goodness....   Rain!  It has been raining off and on most of the day.  I sit here now as the thunder and lightening is sounding off.  We need the rain so badly.
I was able to spend most of the evening stitching... I started this little freebie this afternoon and finished itthis evening after dinner.  What a fun stitch...It is a freebie chart by The Prairie Schooler... one of my favorite designers.  I have stitched it with the DMC thread it called for, on 36 count Edinburgh linen - Tan Marble Sugar Maple fabrics.  Just thought I would post real quickly and show you the completed piece.

I will also attach a picture of my lil fur baby Daisy she is our princess.

Have a great night... keep crossing those stitches!

Update on Stitching- Insect Visitor!

This morning we were in the garage and walking across our driveway was this HUGE bright colored ...  "bug"   looked like a wasp... but no wings... was very hairy.... and bright as can be.  (I have a picture attached)   We later found out this is the Red Velvet Ant... or the "cow killer".  It is sposed to have a VERY PAINFUL sting and is actually part of the wasp family.

I stopped by a local bakery and bought som yummy fresh made tea cookies... they were so yummy and reminded me of childhood days where my papaw would buy them for us.

Finally I have attached an updated picture of the Lizzie Kate Halloween ABC's project.

Have a great day and keep crossing those stitches.

Saturday Fun!

My best friend, my daughter, grand daughter and I headed up to Keepsakes Cross Stitch Shop in Cincinnati, OH.  What a BLAST!
I have attached a few pics to show you of my fun day.
I have a picture of the warm house that makes up this shop.  It is always such fun to go there....  If Barbara is sold out on something... or does not have it she will find it and get it in for you.

I had pre-ordered the Lizzie Kate mystery project... and Barbara had the most adorable baggies made up for us to hand them out.  how cute is that.  I can't wait to get this started....

While there... I was given a birthday gift from my best friend .. she bought me a pair of the premax Italian Scissors.   Oh I have wanted these for quite a bit now... Thank you so very much... what an awesome gift.  They feel good to hold and they slide thru thread like a hot knife cutting butter.

Then of course I cant go without looking around and having fun... I found PSS new chart... Halloweenies.  Oh they are adorable... I had her cut me a piece of 32 count picture this plus "Ancient" to stitch them on... and then bought some of the flosses for this chart.   My daughter found this WONDERFULLY PERFECT fabric for Ding dong the witch is dead chart... Picture this plus "masquerade"
After spending the entire morning there... and spending all my spare cash... we headed to Ruby Tuesdays fo lunch... then...off for a frappe!

What a wonderful day! Thank you Debra for my present... and Megz and Abigail and Barbara at Keepsakes for making this day such a wonderful memory.
Thanks for stopping by ... keep crossing those stitches. Tracy

Stitching updates... and something new to try!

It has been a busy week.  We went to see the new Disney movie... Brave.  It was so good. I found myself laughing and crying... I can't wait to buy this movie.

The weather here in KY is back to hot and humid. Although we have had some random showers here and there... the sun has just fried our grass... and it is just brown and crunchy when you walk on it.  We are said to have rain coming tomorrow.  I pray that it is a long soaking to replenish our grass of what it needs.

While we were on vacation I started Lizzie Kate ABC Halloween.  It was so hot and we packed our daysso full that I didn't get much done... I was able to spend some time today one this piece... I am really liking how this is looking.  I have used all the threads that it called for and am stitching it on 28 count Dirty Belfast Linen.

I have also included a picture of a new lip balm.  My daughter brought me this home today.  I have heqr from several people that this is the best lip balm... I am excited to try it.
Thank you for stopping by...
Keep crossing those stitches.

VACATION AND STASH GOODIES

We just arrived back from our vacation.  We tried very hard to make the best of everything.   We lost our ac in the truck on the way down... 3 dogs... 4 adults and a princess baby grand daughter.   We arrived in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee last 2 fridays ago.  We stayed at a somewhat nice campground with full hook ups... but started to have troubles with the ac unit right away.  It was not gettin as col as usual.  The days were well above 100 degrees The day that it first went out was 106 degrees and boy was it miserable.  we went and bought a box fan... and window ac unit.  It was a smaller unit and did not cool the unit like it could... but it was so much better than not having it.   We haf a repair company come outto fix but they told us that it was just too hot and that several people were losi.g their units.  We were the good ole family with a window unit in our RV... WOW.  but I didn't care one bit it worked.   Then the storms rolled in... OMG they were bad!   LOTS OF LIGHTENING...STRONG WINDS... and the rain was actally COLD.  It was a bit scarey for quite a while.  The next evening the storms were even worse.  News reports showed the rv park a short way from us had flipped campers... and even deaths.   Wow... we were lucky.   Our campground had trees down and limbs everywhere... the power was out in the front of the grounds... but all were safe.
With all of hos we were still able to go to the July 4th parade and fireworks.  My son and I went to the Titanic exhibit... that was so neat.  We went to the petting zoo... parakeet mountain(Abigail loved this she squealed and giggled)  we went to the rainforest zoo... and Meghan and i both were able to pet a wild cerval cat. This was amazing.

We spoiled Abigail as much as possible...And tried to keep us andthe dogs as cool as we could.  It was so hot... we went swimming every day.

Before we left I called Silver Needle to try to get the SN exclusive chart by Just Nan...Ladg Scarlet's Scissor Roll.  They took my information but told me it was sold out and if someone had decided against it or their card did not authorize ... they would send one out... I was on a list... but not to plan on it.  This was in my mail as I returned home.  Along with it... they sent me the Prairi Schooler freebie...boo... omg... it is  adorable.  I am going to try to gather and stitch this tomorrow.   I will share more with you later... need to get some laundry done.
Take care!
