Another ornament finished this weekend.

I didn't get a ton of stitching completed... we did a mass stock up for the winter months food shopping day on Saturday... freezer chest almost full... stand up extra freezer full... pantry almost full but could have done more.  We did what we could though and have some things to carry us through the in between times of winter.
Sunday... I fixed a huge meal(dd was off work)  and fixed a double pumpking pie... DH took me for a Starbucks run... it is cold and windy... so that warm chi sounded so good.   And it was!

I did finish thhe hedgehog ornament... the two little ornaments... and finished a christmas gift (but I can't show it or they will know....)

I also am looking to find a Margaret Sherry chart of a hedgehog in a ballet skirt... I have a picture below.  I can't find this at all... am hoping to borrow, or if for sale.   I like her lil elephants too and can't seem to find them.  I was just introduced to this magazine... and do so love it.  Very cute quick pieces in it.  It is just fun!

Thank you for stoppin by... and taking a look will post these ornaments whrn they are completed and ready to hang on the tree.

Have a great week... and for those about to go through the storms... my thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.  Be safe... Hugs!

Another ornament...

It is the time when I try hard to get all my ornaments finished.  I have several completed... and just have to do the finish work on them and hang them.  I give each of my kids an ornament each year... with the date... This tradition started with my grand parents... every christmas... I was able to choose the ornament I wanted to have that was mine on the tree... it was a memory for me... and it was fun.  When I started to have the kids my grandparents carried it on with them.  It has almost been a year now since we lost my paw... and I decided several years ago... that I would adjust that tradition to be that I made an ornament each year for each of them.  This way when they do finally get a place of their own...  they have a box of memories that goes with them from their childhood.  I have started this ornament but am not posting who gets what since my dd is on my blog... this way some surprise for her.  I am debating making 2 ornaments for Abigail each year... one for her tree and one for mine.   This way ... adventually when mom has her degree... and a place of her own... she still feels connected and important at both homes.

I have just had such a hard week.. so many things in my world going on.  It is the 30th the one year mark from my pawpaw leaving us.  He was my grandpa... and my dad both.  He was fun... loving... caring... and was the one person that ALWAYS loved me.  There were so many times when he was sick ... I was just besides myself about how a man that was so good to all... and so wonderful could spend the last years of his life in this manner.  I would hesitate visiting because it was the only way I knew to cope with it all.  I would say to him I was glad to see him and he would say don't know why... I just lay here.  Not true... just knowing he was still in this world made it a much better place to be in.

I have been looking for a job now for several months and still have not located the right position.  I go to interviews... and am called back for 2nd interviews... one HR rep told me that I was against almost 300 applicants... wow... that is crazy. I know God has a plan... and I am holding out for what he has for me... but am just getting a bit frustrated and down about it all.

Enough about the negative... I want to show you my progress I have made on the next ornament.

This is another Margaret Sherry ornament from the same issue... it the most adorable hedgehogs with Christmas tree lights.  This is what I have so far....

Thank you for stopping by to take a look... please keep me and the job search in you thoughts and prayers.

Take care,
Tracy

Ornament completed...now to finish it!

Today was fun... for sweetest day, my dh took me to the movies... my choice.

Giggle...
I chose Hotel Transylvania ... and it was so cute.  I just needed cute today.  It was between that and the new Tim Burton one...  but my dd is really wanting to see that one. So... I will wait for her.

I was able to stitch this evening and while watching The Walking Dead... I finished my lil mouse ornament.  I have a small snowflake charm for it... I hope it is small enough... but I have to go pull it out.  I want to press it first and hope to assemble it tomorrow night.

Thank you for stopping by and taking a look!  Take care,
Tracy

Tonights progress- Christmas Ornaments

YES... it is almost 2:30 in the morning.  The drs have started me on an antibiotic for the ear infection that disturbs my sleep... so I sit here awake.

I have been able to start tonite the ornament I am working on for my grand daughter.  This will be her 2nd Christmas, and I hope to do this each year for her and for my kids.

I had planned to do a totally different ornament but this past weekend when I went to our Tiara Club Retreat... we had a free to a new home table... I was able to find this littme Margaret Sherry ornament in the 2007 CrossStitcher magazine.  It reminded me so much of that precious lil girl... I decided that THIS was to be her ornament this year.

I have started itbon a 25 ct ivory evenweave linen... and am using the ccolora it calls for.  I have not decided if I am going to use fuzzy stuff for the top of the stocking still debating on that.
I have included a few pics of the progress... and one of the front cover that shows what it looks like. This has been so far pretty fun... but a lot of half stitches, and different shades used in it.

THANK YOU for stopping by and looking please let me know how it is looking.

LizzieKate Mystery Club update

I am still battling a bad ear infection.  The antibiotics just don't seem to be working so there has not been near enough stitching.

I have the goal this week of getting the ornaments kitted that I want to stitch for my kids and grand daughter so that i can get them finished.

I am on the homeward stretch with my lizzieKate Mystery sampler.  This piece has been so fun to stitch.   I can not wait to see it hanging in the house.  I have attached a few pics of the last part progress.

Thank you for stopping by.

New coffee cup!

Went to get some groceries... and a chi tea at the adored... STARBUCKS.  The dd (scrapsfrommom) found this lovely coffee cup... it HAD to come home with me... oh it is so adorable... it makes me chuckle each time I see it.  Giggle!  Just thought I would share this with you.

Friday Mail... brings goodies!

I dont have very much stitching updates to show... I have not been stitching this week.  I thought i had my allergies all messed up but after a visit to the dr on monday... i found out i have a severe ear infection.   So... i have been battling the strong pains in my ear... fever, blurred vision... left side face and neck swollen and hurting, and congestion... then on top of that... i had the lovely side effects of the antibiotic...  I am still not better... and if I still.can't hear out of the ear on Monday... I am going back again.
Today the mail brought a package... with a few christmas gifts for my daughter, and a few goodies.  I thought I would share with you and in them is the Christmas cracker chart that I have been wanting for quite a bit now... I broke down and bought it.
Thank you for stoping by.  Hope to get started stitching again soon.

I could buy one of each.... gorgeous flowers ... falling leaves... fenced yards... crowns... absolutely wonderful work.  Almost sad to stick a needle in these little works of art... After several emails back and forth to Jen... I had ordered one for me and one for my dd. They arrived today and oh my goodness.  PLEASE check her site out she is on Artfire.  As you order please let her know that it was Tracy's Jack pin cushion that led you to her.  I promised her I would tell all that I could about her wonderful work.
Take a look... I will load several shots... and even one with an ink pen to try to give you the size... one is over 6 inches in size ... the other is a bottle cap pin cushion... Oh I am so happy!!!!!!! Notice how each scene is so delicately hand sewn on this piece... she does such wonderful work.
And of course my model for this is the adorable lil Miss Daisy she was so happy to help me... see it shows ... her happiness is written all over her face.  :)
